Verses 18-19: “If the world hates you, keep in mind
that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its
own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the
world. That is why the world hates you.
Verse 26 “When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to
you from the Father—the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will
testify about me.
Jesus has chosen us to share about him in the world. What a privilege, to be chosen by Jesus. He warns us that this will cause trouble for us, but Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to us from God the Father. He is our Advocate, someone to stand by us and stand up for us. Thank you, Father. We do not need to testify about Jesus alone. We will not receive trouble from the world alone.
Thank you for this post, Kathy! So thankful for the Holy Spirit, that we are not alone, that we may endure trouble for a time, but the reward of living with the Lord now and forever is reason to share the Good News and keep on keepin' on!!! Blessings and love, eMarie
ReplyDeleteThank you, Erma.
DeleteSharon K Connell here. Good reminder, Kathy.
ReplyDeleteWhen you think of all our Lord Jesus went through for us while He trod this earth below, how can we compare what little trouble we go through with His back then? And... He did it all for us. Our pains and disappointment, put downs and ridicules are nothing compared to what He received. He could have stayed in the splendor of Glory, but He chose to acquaint Himself with grief.
Isaiah 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Thank you my dear Lord Jesus.
Yes, thank you Jesus. Thanks, Sharon.
